How to use the PDF page editor

  1. Drop one or more PDF files into “Your files”.
  2. Say what to do: “merge these pdfs”, “extract pages 1-3”, “delete page 2”, “rotate page 4 by 90 degrees” or “split this pdf”.
  3. Preview the new document in the answer before you rely on it.
  4. Download it from Results. Splitting gives you one PDF per page.

Things you can type: merge these pdfs extract pages 1-2

PDFs are the format research arrives in

Filings, papers, reports, contracts, scanned records. They arrive split across five files, or as one file where you need pages 40 to 58, or rotated ninety degrees by a scanner that had its own ideas.

These are the operations that fix almost all of it, and none of them should require handing a confidential document to a free website.

What it does

  • Merge several PDFs into one, in the order you choose.
  • Split a PDF into one file per page.
  • Extract a page range into a new document, or delete the pages you do not want.
  • Reorder pages within a document.
  • Rotate selected pages, then preview and download the result.

How it runs

The PDF library is loaded as a separate chunk, only when you first open this tool, and it executes on your device. It makes no external request — the tool works with the network disconnected once the page has loaded.

Page ranges, and getting them right

Extraction works on page numbers as the document counts them, which is not always what is printed on the page — front matter, cover pages and scanned inserts all shift the two apart. Preview the result before you rely on it.

Reordering is the operation people reach for after merging, when three documents have been combined in the order they happened to be selected rather than the order they should be read.

What page operations cannot do

These operations rearrange pages; they do not touch content. Text is not extracted, redactions are not applied, and a scanned page stays an image of a page.

That distinction matters for confidential work. Cropping or covering something visually does not remove it from a PDF, and no page-level tool can promise otherwise. Real redaction removes the underlying content, which is a different operation than any of these.

Questions

PDF page editor: common questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The document is read into the tab and rewritten there. This is the whole point of doing it here rather than on one of the free PDF sites, which do upload.

Can it extract the text from a PDF?

Not yet — this tool manipulates pages, not content. Text extraction, including from scanned documents, is part of the FlexContext product rather than this page.

Does it work with password-protected PDFs?

Encrypted documents need to be unlocked before they can be edited. Remove the password in your PDF reader first.
